Youth Wing

NFB founded a Youth Wing on 5th October’2014 to address the spectrum of challenges encountered by VI(Visually Impaired)Youth.

For example-
Rejection of Youth on the basis of lack of experience. This resulted in lesser number of representation of VI Youth as we move higher in the decision-making hierarchy.
NFB conducted a survey on ‘Youth Participation’ in 2013 in order to find the best strategy for an increased involvement and participation of youth within NFB at all levels. On analyzing the results of the survey, NFB amended its constitution to strengthen participation of youth in decision-making structures as well as programmes and activities at all levels. The intervention consisted of introducing a position of Youth Secretary in all constitutional bodies.
NFB strives to achieve the goals of Acceptance, Recognition and Justification of abilities of Youth. It also aims to provide enabling environment to the VI Youth for their all round development.
